Captain Edward Teague, who is the infamous Pirate Lord, an aristocratic outlaw and father of Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean Movie, played by Keith Richards.
I have admired Keith Richards for decades, growing up with the music of The Rolling Stones, Keith on lead guitar. I grew up admiring Keith’s playing along with his showmanship and signature style. So naturally, when I learned that Keith was joining the Pirates cast, I couldn’t have picked up my paintbrushes any faster. Excited for the prospect to paint the charismatic performer. I actively sought out and was granted the opportunity to paint him in this truly epic atmosphere of Disney magic, in which we’ve not seen before.
I was granted the access to shoot photos of all the costuming, access to the intricate set design details, prior to filming. This access gave me the opportunity to paint the great Captain with absolute accuracy, during the movie shoot. An extraordinary experience, one that I will always cherish.
