This New Yorker was Born on 11/29/27 an Emmy award winning American Sportscaster, who didn’t retire until he was 88yo. Vin was best known for his 67 seasons calling games for the Dodgers, beginning with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1950 and continuing through the franchise’s move to Los Angeles. The longest tenure of any Broadcaster with a single team in Professional sports history. The most popular home run call he would say over the mic “Forget It”!

This man!! forget about it, they just don’t make sportscasters like Vin anymore, the golden voice of an era past, but not forgotten.

Sandy Koufax said it best, “It may sound corny, but I enjoyed listening to Vin call a game almost more than playing in them. He’s been a special broadcaster for a lot of years and he’s been wonderful to listen to for a lot of years. He is definitely the All - Century broadcaster as far as I’m concerned.”
